Press-Cut – a stamp cutter

So I was browsing 𝕏 one day and saw a charming demo of OneStamp for iOS by Weiqing Chu:

Albeit never having interest in stamps, watching the video, I immediately felt the magic of framing some object or pattern into a curly rectangle. Suddenly, it stands out, becomes unique, important.

Initially, I decided to recreate just the cutting experience on Android and started experimenting with the camera library and image manipulation. I wanted to store the stamps as stickers in a Telegram channel but didn't manage to make the Android client treat my WebPs correctly. Therefore, the collections were implemented too.

Once the app became more or less usable and my wife and I got into collecting the stamps, I decided to complete it and publish as Press-Cut:

Press-Cut – a stamp cutter

With this Android app, you can cut digital postage stamps from what your camera sees. For free and without limits.

If you ever need to back up your collection or transfer it to a new phone, just copy the "PressCutStamps" contents from the "Pictures" folder.

If you're keen to find out how Press-Cut works, visit the project's GitHub page. It's a free open-source app under the GPLv3 license.
